Chord Extractor The on-screen display shows the chords of the song, so if, for example, you are playing with a guitarist, they will never be late again as the chords are displayed slightly ahead of time.
Cover Function The Cover feature lets you change your songs into a number of different styles, such as Dance or Acoustic.

Dual Voice This feature allows you to play two different sounds simultaneously.

EQ Processing This enables you to tailor the sound of the instrument using the built-in equaliser.
Escapement This feature simulates the distinctive ‘click’ that you feel when pressing a key on a grand piano.
Expressive Sound Engine The sound engine enables you to add expression to your playing – for example, if you play a guitar note slightly harder you’ll hear fret buzz. Play it harder than that, and you’ll hear a realistic slide up to the note.

Metronome A metronome helps you to keep in time.
Midi (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) A standard developed in the early 80’s for instruments to communicate with each other.
Midi Channel A Channel is a route of communication or access for MIDI reception. One MIDI Channel is roughly equivalent to one instrument in a band. However for this to work successfully, both connected instruments must be ‘tuned-in’ to the same MIDI Channel.
Midi File A song that is made entirely of MIDI note information.

odulationWheel A controller on the side of a keyboard used to govern the depth of vibrato or tremolo applied to the selected sound.
Multi-timbral The number of sounds an instrument can play simultaneously, normally on separate MIDI channels.
Music Assistant Function The Music Assistant Function will set up the keyboard for a variety of different popular songs. For example, if you wanted to play a rock song, the Music Assistant function would set up the keyboard with a rock backing and a rock instrument.

One-touch setting A “one-touch setting” is where the instrument sets itself up for you to play in a particular style – choosing the ideal sound.
Orchestration of songs The orchestration of a song refers to the instruments that play in a song.
Oriental Scales The instrument is tuned to the oriental scale, for use with oriental music styles

Panel Lock This enables you to disable all buttons, leaving the instrument in a state where only the piano sound can be used. However, you can still adjust the volume.
Pitch Bend The altering of a note’s pitch using a real-time controller such as the pitch-bend wheel.

Real-time Something that takes effects at the very same time as you implement it.
Real-time Orchestrator This feature allows you to play back Standard Midi Files and change the instruments that are playing in a song while they are playing.
Re-orchestrate This allows you to change the instruments that are playing in a song.
Ribbon Controller Allows you to add various effects to the sound, just by running your finger along the ribbon. It can also be assigned to control other effects such pitch-bend, modulation etc.

Singer Key This feature allows you to change the key of any song to match the range of your singing voice.
Song Parameters This feature allows you to change the instruments used and add effects to individual instruments.
Split Keyboard You can split the keyboard in two – letting you play with one instrument sound in the right hand and another instrument sound in the left.
Stereo Sampled Waveforms The instrument sounds are recorded in stereo, making the instrument sound much more realistic.
String Resonance When a key is pressed on an acoustic piano, the strings for the keys which are already pressed vibrate sympathetically.
Style Morphing Allows you to switch easily between two different backing styles. While you play, you can gradually transform from one style to another by swapping various parts of the styles over. i.e. drums and etc.
Style Orchestrator You can change the number of instruments that play in each style, and take the arrangement right down to just the drummer and bass player.
Sympathetic Resonance Sympathetic resonance accurately emulates the resonance you get when you press the damper pedal on a piano, making a richer sound.

Temperaments The temperaments are various historical tuning methods, letting you play in the true classical styles.
Transpose Transpose allows you to change the pitch of the entire keyboard, and play in a different key – without having to change the notes you play.
Tremolo A repeated increase and decrease in the amplitude of a tone, causing a quivering sound similar to that of bowed string instrument.

User Interface This is the front panel which enables the user to navigate around the instrument.

VariPhrase Revolutionary technology that allows you to sample (record) a vocal or instrumental phrase, which can then be played in real-time as if it was a preset sound on your keyboard.
Velocity Sensitive Keys The keys are ‘touch-sensitive’, so the harder you play a note the louder it sounds – just like a piano.
VGA Monitor output This instrument can be plugged into an external monitor - this can be used to display a larger version of the touch-screen.
